State of the Sim - December 2022

Posted on Monday December 5th, 2022 @ 7:41pm by Captain Franklin Johnson

Hello Crew!

I hope you all have had a wonderful Halloween, an absolutely wonderful Thanksgiving, and will have a Happy Holidays and New Year! We're already at December and time feels like it has flied far too fast! You all have been amazing and I thank you all for being a wonderful part of the crew.

First, Commander Kanaka Shakura is now stepping down from their Executive Officer position. Their teaching profession as a Professor is taking up far too much time, as well as other complications, and after consulting myself we both agreed that stepping down will be the best option. Kanaka has single-handedly helped shape the sim for the best! Thank you so much for all your hard work! Kanaka will be staying on in their capacity as Chief Councilor.

Secondly, let us give a fond farewell to Lt. (JG) Vaebn tr'Jarok. They have been having complications in real life and have been called to further military service. We wish them the best of luck and thank them for their service to their country! Thank you so much for being a part of our crew for 1 year and 6 months!

Next, let us congratulate Lt. Colonel Phoebe Graydon on their promotion back to Executive Officer! They were the original XO to the Poseidon upon her reactivation. I look forward to great things from Phoebe!

Moving on, congratulations to Lt. Cmndr. Paul Sharpe on his promotion to Second Officer and Lt. Cmndr. Sam Perkins on his promotion to Third Officer! Both Sam and Paul have been major contributions to the sim! Thank you both for your patience and dedication, so well rewarded! Keep up the awesome work!

Now for the general news..

We're proceeding to the conclusion of the Poseidon House Mystery series started by Sam Perkins. Once this is concluded, expect the sim to move forward to an R&R Mission to - possibly - Risa! I look forward to the progress that can be made thanks to our fresh command staff!

Next is there is an expected update to Nova sometime between this month and early next year. Pegasus Fleet is currently testing the new update to verify that it will not harm our sims. Once they verified, we will proceed with an update. Everything should be hands-off from our end so here's hoping for a smooth update process once things progress and are approved!

As always, thank you ALL for everything! You are all wonderful! Without you, the Poseidon wouldn't even exist and I'd have no drive to continue supporting her financially. You are all the reason I do and I love you all!

Thank you so much,
Captain Franklin Johnson
Commanding Officer
USS Poseidon
