State of the Sim - October 2022

Posted on Saturday October 1st, 2022 @ 2:38pm by Captain Franklin Johnson

Hey Crew,

This one will be short and sweet.

You all have been absolutely fantastic. I cannot stress this enough. You crew, especially Sam and others who have contributed so much during this layover time of the sim as we adjust to schedules and circumstances, have contributed so much I cannot even thank you. I will now be giving back, as much as I am able, to those often ongoing contributions. I will work to provide again a moving canvas instead of a stagnate one, which you all have more than earned and deserved.

I am still busy with my trucking job, understandably, as well as the command staff is busy with theirs. I am active on weekends and during the week when able as you've noticed. I am working to decide how best to translate this to my command staff and their contributions to the sim to better serve you, the crew.

There's a lot going on in the world, a lot more at home for me, and undoubtedly a lot going on for all of you. I'll keep this simple and sweet. Over the next week I'll be assessing changes necessary to move forward during this troubling time for all of us. I've already made a demotion due to inactivity. I expect more possibly in the next few months as necessary.

We will be moving forward with the sim and moving on from the refugee hauling soon. I've already discussed events with 2XO Puppy and we have a plan of general action. The world is a harsh and unforgiving place, but this sim is intended to be a relief from that, not a place to stagnate permanently.

The next mission will be finalized as expected with my 2XO and likely with Sharpe, our Chief Engineering Officer. I believe the command staff and I already did a OOC discussion on what to expect so I'm going to use that as a guideline.

Thank you all for your patience during this time. We will be back up to a respectable, slow speed very soon. If not, you will be seeing more promotions and demotions as necessary to assist my vision and expectations.

Sincerely,
Captain Franklin Johnson
Commanding Officer
USS Poseidon
