State of the Sim; June 2021

Posted on Friday June 4th, 2021 @ 9:33am by Captain Franklin Johnson

Hello Crew!

I realize it's been a long while since we had a formal announcement. My apologies! I'm going to try out a few format methods for easier announcements so bare with me.

General News

1.) Things have been crazy so far, and honestly I realize how crazy it has been for everyone. We've now transitioned the sim into a more relaxed pace which I believe enables everyone a fair and reasonable chance to be involved. If anyone has any complaints about our new pace and structure, feel free to DM me on discord personally and we'll address it.

2.) I continue my job as a truck driver and that means I am maintaining my schedule of being active mostly on Fridays and Saturdays and being out on the road from Sunday to Thursday. I typically try to answer tags during the week when I am able, and I greatly appreciate the patience of the crew so far with me. I am also thankful for the crew being patient with other crewmembers as they utilize our relaxed-pace environment.

3.) The creativity of the sim has reached all-time levels, in my opinion and I am extremely impressed. Keep up the good work!

Future Developments

The Command Staff and I are in continued talks on how to best approach the end-of-plot for our current mission to open the doorway for a new chapter in our sims history. The current plot outline has been changed multiple times for various reasons over the past year, and the pandemic has mostly done in any plans we had for a stretched out deep and intertwined plotline. To that end, the Command Staff and I have successfully changed around our methodology of approaching this issue by enabling a transition from fast-pace to relaxed-pace simming, which I believe has been an overwhelming success.

LOA Report

The USS Poseidon currently has two(2) simmers on Extended Leave of Absence and two(2) simmers on Leave of Absence. This leaves the sim with fourteen(14) active members.

As a reminder, the USS Poseidon has a FREE LOA policy so long as good communication is utilized and we greatly appreciate all for keeping in good communication when able.

June Arrivals and Departures

For the month of June 2021, we welcome onto the sim our newest arrival: Ensign Lethe Sivarr - Damage Control Specialist! Welcome!

For the month of May 2021, we welcomed onto the sim two new arrivals: Lieutenant JG Vaebn tr'Jarok - Intelligence Officer and Lieutenant JG Miles O'Connell - Assistant Chief Engineering Officer! Welcome again to both of you!

We formally welcome all of our new arrivals from the year of 2021 and thank you for sticking with us.

Future Possible Plans

I have been toying with the idea of, within the next year, transitioning the USS Poseidon from a Miranda-class to an Intrepid-class. Tell me what you think of this idea!

Conclusion

The sim is moving along at an acceptable pace as the community continues to grow into a positive influence for all involved. I personally thank all crew for making this sim a wonderful place. You are all very wonderful and awesome!

END OF REPORT

Commanding Officer
USS Poseidon
