State of the Sim: Beginning of July, 2020

Howdy folks!

It's been a while and I apologize. Changes have happened on board the Poseidon. Folks have left, folks have arrived, and in between we still have a fresh and interesting plot playing out. While the plot itself was devised nearly a year back, it's just now having the time to get on its feet in the real world. We've decided in the Command Staff that moving forward we're going to be a little bit more maneuverable and adaptable as we progress. This means that we're going to place less emphasis on the strictest word of the situation and more on evolving with the ever changing scenerio.

More on that in a future release.

In the meantime, we've arrived at Starbase 47! Congratulations to all the crew who have stuck around this far in this wonderful achievement for our sim! It's been a hard road, but we're finally here! Our halfway point! The future is open while the USS Poseidon undergoes her repairs from the malicious attack from those two Sabre-class vessels, the Cain and Abel. Without the USS Pitchfork, an old Akula-class vessel, to save us we likely had been overun! Due to no small part of the bravery of our fighters, we appeared to have the upper hand at the time before the Pitchfork arrived! This may bode well for future events.

Right now the crew should concentrate on shore leave activities or catching up on things they have neglected. We also have a few new crew coming in, and a new Chief Engineering Officer! Wonderful of us to leave the Poseidon in such a mess, eh?

Welcome to all our new crew, and thank you to all the crew who have stayed with us. To those who have contributed and are now gone, we miss you and wish you were here!

I'll get more in later, but for now, feel free to post away activities on Starbase 47 or on the Poseidon.
