Personality & Traits

General Overview Gregory Paladin is a Starfleet Officer who once commanded the U.S.S Poseidon. Following a personal family event that took the lives of both parents and one sister, he stepped down from command to deal with the family aftermath as his personal demons from the Dominion War piled on to the tragic events. He spent the latter half of a few years on Alpha Centauri after concluding affairs in Clinton, Iowa, on Earth. There he tried to restructure his life, find purpose, and move on from his demons.

It wasn't until the chance arrival of Franklin Johnson that Gregory seemed to find some purpose again. After Gregory insisted that Franklin join the Academy, it wasn't long that he got a call a few short years later to be invited back to the ship he left.

After a request was filed with Starfleet, Gregory Paladin was assigned as Mission Advisor on board the Poseidon after promotion to Commodore. His side-interest in cooking allowed him to also take up the position as one of the ships Chefs.
Strengths & Weaknesses Gregory was once an ambitious and stern commanding officer. Since the events with his family, he isolated himself from the world on Alpha Centauri. Much of his disposition has been affected by the incident, leaving his strengths to be utilized in more productive methods. One of his weaknesses is being more isolated than before, preferring the odd jobs such as Ships Chef and Gardener to maintain some semblance of purpose. That along with his history during the Dominion War brings a weight onto every action and interaction Gregory undertakes.
Ambitions Gregory hopes to achieve something from his tenure on the U.S.S. Poseidon, to find again the inspiration lost during the loss of his parents and sister, and the memories of a war-torn past that haunt him.
Hobbies & Interests Gregory has a interest in cooking, making him perfect as ships Chef. He's also an experienced logistical officer, and an adamant model starship builder. He bides his time usually with reading and writing in his private quarters or constructing model kits from various eras of Earth's history.

His other hobbies include cooking and botanical pursuits.

Personal History Gregory Paladin was born to Arytiss and Samantha Paladin in the quaint town of Clinton, Iowa on Stardate 31384.512. Grown in a working family with one brother (Samuel Paladin) and two sisters (Crystal and Tracey Paladin), Gregory spent the better half of his early years working on farms and, eventually, spending the latter half hauling feed and foodstuffs around the region.

While his brother and two sisters were supposedly destined to spend the remainder of their lives in the plentiful region in and around Iowa, Gregory had his sights set skyward. During his off-time, he would study the prerequisites material for Starfleet. His mother and father were approving of his motives.

Thereafter, on Stardate 47926.751, at 19 years old, Gregory Paladin applied for Starfleet Academy. So would begin his career in Starfleet.
Service Record On Stardate 47926.751, at age 19, Gregory Paladin applied to Starfleet Academy. He was promptly accepted.

On Stardate 51639.290, after four years in the Academy and several grueling tests later, Lieutenant Gregory Paladin saw his first station on the Miranda-class starship U.S.S Nautilus, (NCC-31910), as one of its security officers. Later in the same year, Gregory Paladin was thrust into the era of war.

Gregory Paldin was involved in the First Battle of Chin'toka as his ship, the U.S.S. Nautilus, along with the U.S.S. Hood and U.S.S. Tian An Men, assisted the famous U.S.S. Defiant in attacking an orbital weapons platform. During that battle, the Chief Security Officer was injured, and Gregory Paladin took his place for the duration.

Several further engagements saw Gregory being forced into further command responsibility, as his actions during the First Battle of Chin'toka were approving to the ships Captain and Commander. On Stardate 55502.756, Lieutenant Gregory Paladin was promoted to Lieutenant Commander, with full honors by the Captain and Command Staff of the Nautilus.

On Stardate 56995.168, Gregory was suggested for command by the Captain of the Nautilus. After several years under the tutelage of the command staff, Gregory accepted, returning to Earth to begin his new courses to excel him as a Commanding Officer in starfleet.

On Stardate 60923.079, after four years in command school, Lieutenant Commander returned to the U.S.S. Nautilus as a full-fledged Commander, with full honors. He would serve under a new Captain of the Nautilus for nine more years, thereafter being recommended for command.

On Stardate 67609.329, Commander Gregory Paladin accepted a new tenure at Starfleet and briefly took command of the U.S.S. Poseidon (NCC-42635) for its original drydock proceedings. After a tragic loss of multiple family members, Gregory resigned command to his XO, returning to Earth to deal with personal matters.

Several years later, on Stardate 70522.369, Gregory Paladin was invited back on board the U.S.S. Poseidon by Commander Franklin Johnson and Starfleet to serve in an official capacity as Mission Advisor, with the new rank of Commodore.
