Personal History | Freya hails from Nygard, a small human colony settled by Scandinavians, who reverted to the old viking religion and lifestyle. When she was 15, the shuttle her family was travelling on was boarded by slavers. In the fight, her brother and parents were killed. Freya herself lost part of her left leg and suffered severe burns on her left arm when she was caught in a grenade explosion helping her little sister escape to one of the escape pods. When she was 18, Freya decided to join the Imperial Starfleet in order to hunt down the slavers that had killed her parents and brother. She was offered a place at the academy due to her advanced skills in linguistics, as well as her well-honed personal combat skills. However, she quickly came into conflict with her superiors over many points of doctrine. Nevertheless, she graduated the academy at the age of 22, and was assigned to the scout vessel ISS Cromwell. On her first mission, the Cromwell was sent to find a pirate outpost in the Badlands - pirates, it turned out, who were responsible for the attack on her family five years prior. The Cromwell made quick work of the pirates, but was caught in an ion storm on its way out of the Badlands, and was severely damaged, with Freya being one of very few crewmembers to escape to an escape pod. Thrown into the Badlands, her flimsy escape pod was hit by the storm. When she woke, she found herself in a different universe, with her counterpart from that universe dead in an escape pod nearby. Shortly afterwards, Freya was rescued by the U.S.S. Edinburgh and granted asylum, to take over the identity of her deceased counterpart. Starfleet decided to place her on U.S.S. Poseidon to complete her first tour of duty - and to prove herself and her loyalties.... |
